German Pretzels, Pubs and Beer: A Downtown Leavenworth Tour

Devour the best soft pretzels and beer Downtown Leavenworth has to offer on a walking tour for foodies and pub crawlers alike. In just 45 minutes, you’ll visit some of the city’s most iconic Bavarian establishments, from Rhein Haus Leavenworth and Gustav’s, to München Haus and Leavenworth Cider House.

Starting in Front Street Park, you’ll be expertly directed to each location where I‘ll invite you to linger longer and tuck into tasty Bavarian fare. Along the way, you’ll hear historical facts, interesting anecdotes and, of course, the inside scoop from a local, to help you decide where to satisfy your pretzel cravings.

On this tour, you can look forward to:

• Finding out why Leavenworth was transformed from a typical town into a Bavarian village, complete with a Nutcracker Museum
• Hearing which restaurant burnt to the ground and was then rebuilt in its former glory
• Discovering what a traditional Danish bakery is doing in a Bavarian village
• Taking in Leavenworth’s very own European-style beer hall, Stein

One part pub crawl and one part food tour, not everyone can handle the pressure of comparing so many pretzels and beers. Some would even say it's a thankless job, but we know you’re up for the challenge!

We recommend choosing a few stops during the tour to share a pretzel and try some local brews. Another option is to take a few notes so that when the tour ends at Icicle Brewing Company, you know where you’d like to return for some delicious German treats.
